SparkWhyz

Youth-Led Movement for Fire Safety Awareness

Mission Statement

SparkWhyz is a youth-led movement empowering kids and teens to prevent wildfires by turning in fireworks and leading their communities in fire safety awareness.

About SparkWhyz

Inspired by the recent wildfire in Laguna Beach and modeled after other youth-led environmental campaigns, SparkWhyz was founded by local Laguna Beach School District teens Kiyan (17), Dastan (15), and Rosteen (13). Their goal is to create a cultural shift among youth, making fire safety a visible and peer-driven priority. By turning in their own fireworks to the Laguna Beach Fire Department, they hope to set a powerful example for others across the city and beyond.

How to Get Involved

Teens and families can join the SparkWhyz movement by safely turning in fireworks to their local fire department and posting their action on social media using the hashtag #SparkWhyz. For more resources, updates, and contact info, visit www.sparkwhyz.com or follow us on Instagram at @sparkwhyz.
